ABOUT
KPoole DESIGNS

Kelsey Poole is an urban planner and illustrator in Fort Worth, Texas. She received a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from Drexel University. Kelsey started her career as a fashion designer working and living in Philadelphia and New York City. Weekly explorations of urban spaces and personal encounters with residents and visitors inspired Kelsey to capture and illustrate streetwear.

A love for the built environment and community ultimately inspired Kelsey to move to Dallas, Texas to explore a career in urban planning. Since 2017, Kelsey has visited and worked with communities and cities across the state of Texas and the country to learn the key elements of designing inviting, safe, and accessible places for all people to enjoy and live.

As an urban planner and fashion designer, Kelsey embeds herself in cities to experience the neighborhoods, architecture, and people that contribute to the character and culture of urban spaces. William Whyte astutely observed that "What attracts people most, it would appear, is other people." Her work celebrates the intersection of people and places using watercolor and ink. Each illustration spotlights a person she has met and chatted with at a particular time and place. The sum of her work spotlights the diversity of people that live and flow through cities and the urban DNA (i.e., zoning) that serves as the foundation for creating physical spaces and urban features that bring people together.
